Description
Located in the district of Pitumarca (in the province of Canchis – Cusco region, in the south of the country), Ausangate is considered the most important mountain of the Andean cosmovision.
The road to Ausangate is one of the most amazing experiences you can have, enjoy the landscape, be accompanied by birds and native animals during the journey is only part of everything this great opportunity offers, you can find yourself, where you will receive the protection and wisdom of what was once sacred to our culture.
- Vinicunca, also called Montaña de Siete Colores, Montaña Arcoiris is a mountain in Peru with an altitude of 5,100 meters above sea level and owes its incredible coloration to the richness of minerals in its soil.
Itinerary
- 5:00 AM, We pick you up from your hotel in our transport and start the trip to the town of Pitumarca (4500 m.a.s.l.) 2 hours of approximate travel. Upon arrival we will make a stop to enjoy a delicious breakfast and stock up on some things necessary to start the tour. After this short stop, we will continue our trip in the transport for 40 more minutes.
- We will arrive at the town of Phullawasipata at 3700 m.a.s.l. where we will start the walk uphill for 1 hour 20 min until we reach the Mountain of colors (5100 masl) and enjoy impressive views of its colors, Andes and Andean fauna. (Optional: this journey can be done on horseback. The cost of the horse is 60 soles (18 USD) only ascent). After enjoying all the beauty of the place and taking photos, we will descend towards the Red Valley, this immense valley receives this name due to the reddish color it presents.
- The descent through this valley will take us an average of 1 hour 30 minutes until we reach the town of Phullawasipata where our transport will be waiting for us and will take us to enjoy a delicious lunch included.
- Later we will return to Cusco with an approximate arrival time of 5:00 PM, then leave them in their respective hotels and take a well-deserved rest.
