This hike from Huchuy Qosqo to Machu Picchu starts from the archaeological center of Tambomachay, following Huchuy Qosqo (Cusco Small) and finally the Inca Sanctuary of Machu Picchu
Itinerary Qosqo Trek, Machu Picchu 3 days
Dia 1: Cusco – Tambomachay – Huchuy Qosqo
Pick up from your hotel at 06:30 to go for 30 minutes to the ruins of Tambomachay (3800 masl) here you can appreciate the ceremonial water fountains and then we start the trek from here and continue ascending 2 hours through puna landscapes towards The passage of Sicllaccasa that is at a height of 4020msnm. Afterwards we go along the road that leads to Queullococha pass to pass to 4185msnm where we can enjoy the views of the lake with the same name. From here we have spectacular views of the mountains Veronica, Pitusiray, Chicon and San Juan. Continuing the route, we pass by Lake Queullococha, then climb to the Challu Challu pass at 4220m. Then we ascend to the fourth step in Rumicruz at 4230m after lunch we descend 1 hour towards the community of Pucamarca at 3600 masl we continue descending until arriving at Huchuyqosqo where we camped.
Dia 2: Huchuy Qosqo – Ollantaytambo – Machu Picchu
After breakfast we will visit the ruins of Huchuy Qosqo abode of the Inca Wiracocha beautiful Inca archaeological complex with imposing architecture that includes a large open ceremonial center, from which you can enjoy a panoramic view of the Sacred Valley, the Vilcanota river and the mountains of the mountain range Of the Urubamba after descending 3hrs. To the town of Lamay at 3000m and after lunch We drive to Ollantaytambo and then by train to Aguas Calientes where we spend the night in a nice hotel.
Day 3: Machu Picchu – Cusco
After an early breakfast (5:00 am approximately) we will begin the ascent for an hour climbing the Inca citadel of Machu Picchu, so we can be one of the first groups within the Inca city that allows us to enjoy the majestic exit of the sun. Then we will have a guided tour for approximately 02 hours, by the main Inca temples and palaces inside the citadel of Machu Picchu, then explore the mysterious citadel on its own. (Optional climb Huayanapicchu mountain cost $ 20 USD per person).
At an appropriate time we went down from Machu Picchu to Aguas Calientes to board the train back to Ollantaytambo and then the bus to Cusco.
