Itinerary Trek to Nevado de Chicon 2 days

DAY 1: CUSCO – MALAGA – SANTA TERESA – THERMAL BATHS OF COLCAMAYO – ECOLODGE

  • We will pick you up from your Hotel, at 7:30 am. departure from Cusco in our mobility. After 2 hours and 30 minutes on a paved road we will arrive at Málaga (4330 meters above sea level) we will pass through the town of Ollantaytambo, at the arrival of Malaga, our highest point on the route and our first stop to take photos, we will continue our trip for 2 hours and 30 minutes until we reach the town of Santa Teresa around 1.00 pm, where we will have our lunch, we will embark on a 15 minutes trip more towards the Colcamayo Thermal Baths, here we will enjoy the thermo-medicinal waters for a period of 2 hours. Santa Teresa is located in the middle of a beautiful landscape of sub-tropical jungle. These waters are attributed healing properties for skin problems, rheumatism, joint pain, being at the same time a natural source of hydromassages. and relaxation. We will also have the option of accessing the waterfalls that are next to the pools, their waters are icy cold.
  • We return to our trip and embark on our mobility for about 50 minutes until we arrive at the Eco Lodge at 5.30 pm, we will settle into our private Domes, here we will enjoy a delicious dinner, surrounded by nature and the mountains. We will have the option to gather around a campfire and have the incredible view of a starry night.

Day 2: ECO LODGE -HYDROELECTRIC- MACHUPICCHU- AGUAS CALIENTES-CUSCO

  • This day we will get up very early to have our breakfast at 5:30 am. After our breakfast we will leave the Lodge to continue our trip in our mobility for approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes to the Hydroelectric plant, arriving at 7:30 am.
  • From here ,the Hydroelectric Power Plant, we will begin our walk along the railway line for approximately 3 hours in the direction of Machupicchu Pueblo (Aguas Calientes), on the walk we will be able to observe flora and fauna of the area, walking along the banks of the Urubamba River, from here we will be able to appreciate the sacred mountains as well as Huaynapicchu and Machupichu, we will pass through a cloud forest, covered with bromeliads and many varieties of Orchids.
  • At 10:30 am we will arrive to Aguas Calientes (2000 meters above sea level), upon arrival we will leave our backpacks to board our bus to the Sanctuary of Machupicchu (25 minutes) along a zigzagging road. Upon arriving at the Sanctuary of Machupicchu our tour guide will be waiting for us who will begin the journey. The visit will last approximately 2 hours, we’ll visit the most outstanding and magical places of the Citadel of Machupicchu and considered one of the Wonders of the World, then we will take our bus down to the Town of Aguas Calientes for about 25 minutes.
  • Lunch at a local restaurant, We will have time to tour the town. At 18:30 pm we will board our return trip to Ollantaytambo, at this point a representative of the Agency will wait for us and we will embark on our mobility to the city of Cusco. We will arrive at approximately 21:40 pm and drop you off at your hotel.
