The next day, you will travel through the mystical Sacred Valley, visiting Pisac and the imposing fortress of Ollantaytambo before taking the train to Aguas Calientes. On the third day, you will experience the most anticipated moment: a guided visit to Machu Picchu, where you will discover the mysteries of this sacred Inca city.

The experience continues in the Southern Valley, exploring the Huacarpay Wetlands and the archaeological sites of Tipón and Pikillacta. Itinerary Tour Cusco Machu Picchu 5 days

Day 01: Arrival in Cusco and City Tour

  • Pick-up at the airport and transfer to your selected hotel in Cusco. Free time to rest and acclimate.
  • In the afternoon: City Tour visiting the Temple of the Sun or Qoricancha and the 4 nearby ruins: Sacsayhuamán Fortress, Qenqo, Puca Pucara, and Tambomachay, known as “The Inca Baths”.
  • Return and overnight stay at a hotel in Cusco.

Day 02: Cusco – Sacred Valley VIP Tour – Aguas Calientes

  • Morning departure to the Sacred Valley of the Incas with a professional guide.
  • Visit to Chinchero, where you will see its agricultural terraces and the remains of the royal estate of Tupac Inca Yupanqui.
  • We continue to Maras to visit the famous Salineras, or salt mines.
  • Then we visit Moray, where you will admire the impressive circular terraces that served as an Inca agricultural laboratory.
  • Lunch included in Urubamba.
  • In the afternoon, visit to the imposing Ollantaytambo Fortress, where you can walk through the town streets and learn how this important military, religious, and cultural center functioned during the Inca Empire.
  • At the end, transfer to the train station to travel to Aguas Calientes, enjoying spectacular landscapes along the way.
  • Arrival in Aguas Calientes and transfer to the hotel.
  • In the evening, briefing with your guide about the visit to Machu Picchu.

Day 03: Aguas Calientes – Machu Picchu Tour – Cusco

  • Very early in the morning, after breakfast, you will take the bus up to the Machu Picchu citadel to contemplate the majestic sunrise.
  • Guided tour of approximately 3 hours, visiting the main areas: Main Square, sacred sites, terraces, Temple of the Three Windows, among others.
  • You will have time for several stops to take photos.
  • Bus back down to Aguas Calientes. Free time for lunch.
  • In the afternoon, train back to Ollantaytambo and private transport to Cusco.
  • OPTIONAL: Hike to Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu Mountain (additional cost of USD $70, advance reservation required).
  • Overnight stay at a hotel in Cusco.

Day 04: South Valley Tour – Huacarpay Wetlands, Tipón and Pikillacta

  • Morning pick-up from the hotel and departure to the South Valley of Cusco.
  • First visit to Tipón, a sacred site dedicated to the worship of water and considered a marvel of Inca hydraulic engineering.
  • We continue to Pikillacta, an important administrative center of the Wari kingdom with an impressive and harmonious geometric design.
  • We finish at the Huacarpay Wetlands, a restored natural area where you can see sculptures by local artists.
  • Return to Cusco in the afternoon.
  • Overnight stay at a hotel in Cusco.

Day 05: Cusco – Farewell

  • Transfer to the airport according to your departure time.
