Day 01: Humantay Lake Tour 1 Day
Early departure from your hotel in Cusco to Mollepata, passing through the Limatambo Valley. The trip takes approximately 3 hours to reach Mollepata, where you will enjoy breakfast before continuing.
We will continue by vehicle to Soraypampa (3,900 m / 12,795 ft), the starting point of the hike. The drive takes approximately 30 more minutes, passing through Andean communities and grazing areas.
From Soraypampa, we will begin the ascent to Humantay Lake. The hike takes approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes to reach the lake at 4,200 m / 13,780 ft. Along the ascent, you will pass through high mountain landscapes where you can observe alpacas and llamas grazing.
Once at the lake, you will have time to admire its turquoise waters, take photographs, and enjoy panoramic views of the Humantay snow-capped mountain and, in the distance, the imposing Salkantay (6,271 m / 20,564 ft). Free time to explore the surroundings before beginning the descent.
Descent back to Soraypampa (approximately 1 hour). Our transportation will take you to Mollepata for lunch.
After lunch, we will return to Cusco, arriving in the afternoon. Transfer to your hotel.
Optional: During the hike, you may request a horse service (20 USD).
