Machu Picchu and Cocalmayo Tour – 2 Days

Day 1: Cusco – Málaga Pass – Santa Teresa – Cocalmayo Hot Springs – Ecolodge

Pickup from your hotel and departure toward Santa Teresa. The drive takes approximately 5 hours, passing through Ollantaytambo and crossing the Málaga Pass (4,330 m.a.s.l.), the highest point of the route.

Arrival in Santa Teresa for lunch. We then continue for an additional 15 minutes to the Cocalmayo hot springs, where you will have 2 hours to enjoy the thermal medicinal pools. The pools vary in temperature, and there are nearby cold-water waterfalls.

In the afternoon, we continue for 50 minutes to the Ecolodge, where you will settle into private domes. Dinner surrounded by nature. Overnight at the Ecolodge.

Day 2: Ecolodge – Hydroelectric Station – Machu Picchu – Aguas Calientes – Cusco

After breakfast, we depart toward the Hydroelectric station (1 hour and 30 minutes by transport). From there, we begin a hike of approximately 3 hours following the train tracks toward Aguas Calientes. The trail runs along the Urubamba River, crossing cloud forest with orchids and bromeliads, offering views of Huayna Picchu and Machu Picchu mountains.

Arrival in Aguas Calientes. We take the bus up to Machu Picchu (25-minute ascent along a zigzagging road). Guided tour of approximately 2 hours through the main sectors of the citadel. Return by bus to Aguas Calientes.

Lunch at a local restaurant and free time to explore the town. In the afternoon, we take the train back to Ollantaytambo, where our transport will be waiting to take you to Cusco. Arrival in the evening and transfer to your hotel.
