Colcalmayo, located about 14 km from the city of Cusco, features medicinal hot springs with three crystal-clear pools fed by underground thermal waters. The temperature ranges between 38°C and 45°C (100°F to 113°F), ideal for relaxation and located very close to one of the Wonders of the World.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Cusco – Málaga – Santa Teresa – Cocalmayo Hot Springs – Ecolodge.
Day 2: Ecolodge – Hydroelectric Station – Machu Picchu – Aguas Calientes – Cusco.

Day 1: Cusco - Málaga Pass - Santa Teresa - Cocalmayo Hot Springs - Ecolodge

Pickup from your hotel and departure toward Santa Teresa. The drive takes approximately 5 hours, passing through Ollantaytambo and crossing the Málaga Pass (4,330 m / 14,206 ft), the highest point of the route. Arrival in Santa Teresa for lunch. We will continue for an additional 15 minutes to the Cocalmayo hot springs, where you will have 2 hours to enjoy the thermal medicinal waters. The pools have different temperatures, and there are nearby cold-water waterfalls. In the afternoon, we will continue for 50 minutes to the Ecolodge, where you will stay in private domes. Dinner surrounded by nature. Overnight at the Ecolodge.

Day 2: Ecolodge - Hydroelectric Station - Machu Picchu - Aguas Calientes - Cusco

After breakfast, we will depart for the Hydroelectric Station (1 hour and 30 minutes by vehicle). From there, we will begin a hike of approximately 3 hours following the railway tracks toward Aguas Calientes. The trail runs along the Urubamba River through cloud forest with orchids and bromeliads, offering views of Huayna Picchu and Machu Picchu mountains. Arrival in Aguas Calientes. We will take the bus to Machu Picchu (25-minute ascent along a zigzag road). Guided tour of approximately 2 hours through the main sectors of the citadel. Return by bus to Aguas Calientes. Lunch at a local restaurant and free time to explore the town. In the afternoon, we will take the train back to Ollantaytambo, where our transportation will be waiting to transfer you to Cusco. Arrival in the evening and transfer to your hotel.
