Detailed itinerary

Day 1: Reception in Cusco and City Tour in the city

Upon your arrival at Cusco Airport, our staff will be waiting to welcome you and transfer you to your hotel, where you can enjoy a coca tea, ideal for acclimatizing to the altitude and resting for a moment. Later, we will begin the Cusco City Tour, visiting the Temple of the Sun or Coricancha, and then the four ruins near the city: the Fortress of Sacsayhuamán, Qenqo, Puca Pucara, and Tambomachay, known as the Inca Baths. At the end of the tour, return to the hotel to rest.

Day 2: Cusco – Sacred Valley of the Incas – Aguas Calientes (Machu Picchu)

After breakfast at the hotel, we will pick you up to begin the tour of the Sacred Valley of the Incas. Our first stop will be in the town of Pisac, where you will visit the artisan market and then the archaeological site, recognized as an important Inca agricultural center. We will continue to Urubamba, where you will enjoy a buffet lunch. Afterward, we will continue to the Fortress of Ollantaytambo, a living Inca town and one of the last places of resistance against Spanish domination. At the end of the visit, we will head to the Ollantaytambo train station to board the train to Aguas Calientes, according to your ticket schedule. Upon arrival, we will accompany you to the selected hotel in Machu Picchu Pueblo. In the evening, you will have an informative briefing with your guide about the details of the Machu Picchu visit for the following day.

Day 3: Machu Picchu – Aguas Calientes – Cusco

After breakfast at the hotel, we will walk to the Aguas Calientes bus station, arriving approximately thirty minutes in advance to board the bus that will take us to the entrance of the Machu Picchu citadel. The bus ride takes about twenty-five minutes, traveling along a mountain road with beautiful views of the valley. Upon arrival, we will begin our tour of Machu Picchu according to the circuit assigned on your entrance ticket. Together with your guide, you will visit the most important sectors of the sanctuary, receiving explanations about the history, spiritual importance, and Inca architecture, and you will have the opportunity to take the classic souvenir photos from the main viewpoints. The guided tour will last approximately two to three hours. At the end, you will have additional free time to continue enjoying the site according to the regulations of the circuit indicated on your ticket. Then we will take the bus back to Aguas Calientes, where you will have time to have lunch on your own and explore the town if you wish. Later, you will board the train back to Ollantaytambo, according to the schedule indicated on your ticket. Upon arrival, our transportation will be waiting to take you back to your hotel in Cusco

Day 4: Humantay Lake Excursion

Very early in the morning, we will pick you up from your hotel to begin the road trip to the town of Mollepata, located northwest of the city of Cusco. There, you will enjoy breakfast to recharge your energy, and then we will continue by transportation to Soraypampa, the starting point of the hike, at approximately 3,900 meters above sea level. After a short rest, we will begin the ascent to Humantay Lake, located at approximately 4,180 meters above sea level. During the hike, you will be able to appreciate beautiful Andean landscapes. Upon arrival at the lake, you will have time to enjoy its turquoise waters, admire the impressive Salkantay Snow-Capped Mountain, listen to the guide’s explanation, and take souvenir photos. Afterwards, we will return on foot to Soraypampa, where lunch will be waiting for us. At the end, we will return by transportation to the city of Cusco and drop you off at your hotel.
