Itinerary Short Inka Trail 4 days

Day 1: Cusco – Inca Trail Km.82 – Wayllabamba

The adventure on the hike starts at 6:00 AM, with your pick up and transfer in tourist transport from your hotel to the beginning of the Inca trail (about 3 hours and 30 minutes), during the tour, you will enjoy a panoramic view of the mythical Sacred Valley of the Incas with its picturesque Andean villages and the Inca Fortress of Ollantaytambo. Then we will continue the tour on our bus to reach the area of ​​Piscacucho or km.82 starting point of the famous Inca trail. in this place we will have the pleasure of meeting our team of people who will accompany us during our walk (the porters, cooks, etc); then we will start our walk.

This first day of walking is quite easy, the first two hours are a relatively flat terrain following the course of the Urubamba River (Sacred River) to the place called Miskay, where we will have our first lunch prepared by our cook. After lunch we will continue the walk to Patallacta first archaeological site. Continuing our trek we will observe imposing snow-capped mountains such as the Veronica located at 5900 m.s. / 19,000 feet), so we will reach the small village of Wayllabamba, where we will make our first camp and have a delicious dinner ..

Day 2: Wayllabamba – Warmiwanusca – Pacaymayo

Today is the most challenging portion of the trail, as you climb 3 hours to Warmiwañusca, known as Dead Woman’s Pass, at 13,780 feet. From the top you’ll be able to take in breakthaking views of the surrounding valleys and enjoy a tremendous sense of accomplishment. Descending, you arrive at the campsite of Pacaymayo.

Day 3: Pacaymayo – Puyu Patamarca – Wiñaywayna

After ascending to the Runkurakay pass at 13,123 feet, you will receive a guided tour of the ruins at Runkurakay and Sayacmarca. Lunch will be served at Phuyupatamarca, another important archaeological site, and the trek will continue to Wiñay Wayna, where you will receive a guided tour of the ruins and make camp for the evening.

Day 4: Wiñaywayna – Machupicchu – Cusco

After having breakfast, we continued the very early start to arrive on time and to see the sunrise at Machu Picchu. After an hour’s walk will go through the Intipunku or Puerta del Sol also known as the gateway to Machu Picchu, where you can see the most impressive panoramic view of the whole citadel after this experience, you will enjoy a 2 hour guided tour. The afternoon is free to continue to explore the ruins on your own before heading back to Cuzco via a scenic train ride.
