Detailed Itinerary
Day 01: Classic Sacred Valley Tour 1 Day
Situated at the foot of the Andes, the Sacred Valley of the Incas was one of the most important areas of the ancient empire.
Among mountains, rivers, and agricultural terraces stand palaces, temples, and fortresses that today form part of the Cultural Heritage and coexist with charming colonial villages full of life, art, and traditions.
Our tour begins with pickup from your hotel in Cusco, traveling along a paved road through the Sacred Valley, visiting the following places:
Pisac Archaeological Complex
We will visit the impressive ruins of Pisac, located on top of a mountain overlooking much of the valley.
This site combines beautiful agricultural terraces, ceremonial structures, and panoramic views that showcase the greatness of Inca engineering.
Pisac Handicraft Market
At Pisac’s main square, you will have time to explore its famous handicraft market, where colorful textiles, ponchos, bags, ceramics, and other crafts made by Andean communities are displayed, preserving their traditional techniques and vibrant clothing.
Lunch in the Sacred Valley
We will then continue to a local restaurant in the Sacred Valley, where you will enjoy lunch
(type of service depending on the selected program).
Ollantaytambo
In the afternoon, we will visit the impressive Fortress and Citadel of Ollantaytambo, built to protect the entrance to the valley.
You will explore its temples, terraces, and stone streets, gaining a clear understanding of how this military, religious, and urban center functioned during the Inca Empire. Ollantaytambo is considered a “living Inca town” because it preserves its original layout.
Chinchero
On the way back to Cusco, we will visit the picturesque town of Chinchero, home to the remains of the royal estate of Túpac Inca Yupanqui.
You will admire its well-preserved Inca wall in the main square and the colonial church built on Inca foundations.
You will also visit textile workshops where local weavers will demonstrate the traditional process of spinning and dyeing with natural dyes, and you will have the opportunity to take photos of the beautiful Andean landscapes.
At the end of the tour, we will return to Cusco and drop you off at your hotel or near the main square, depending on the selected service.
