We will start exploring the historical richness of Lima, the “City of Kings”. Then, we will travel to Paracas and Ica, where we will enjoy the impressive Ballestas Islands and the landscapes of the Huacachina Oasis.
We will fly to the magical city of Cusco, where we will immerse ourselves in its Inca and colonial legacy. We will continue with a visit to the Sacred Valley of the Incas, before entering the mystical Machu Picchu, the archaeological jewel of South America.
To close with a flourish, we will venture to the impressive Rainbow Mountain, a natural spectacle of vibrant colors. Finally, we will bid farewell to Cusco with indelible memories of this incredible journey.
Itinerary Tour Lima, Paracas, Ica, Cusco and Machu Picchu 7 days
Day 1: Lima – City Tour
Arrival in Lima and transfer to the hotel. In the afternoon, tour of the historic center: Plaza de Armas, Lima Cathedral, and the San Francisco Convent with a visit to the underground catacombs from the colonial period.
Overnight in Lima.
Day 2: Ballestas Islands and Huacachina
Early departure to Paracas. Boat tour around the Ballestas Islands to observe sea lions, Humboldt penguins, and seabirds. Along the way, you will see the Candelabro, a geoglyph traced in the sand.
Continue to Ica to visit a traditional vineyard with tasting of pisco and local wines. Lunch included.
In the afternoon, visit the Huacachina Oasis. Dune buggy ride on the sand dunes with the option to go sandboarding. Return to Lima.
Overnight in Lima.
Day 3: Lima – Cusco – City Tour
We begin with your flight from Lima to Cusco (3,400 m a.s.l.). Upon arrival, you will be welcomed with a coca tea to help with acclimatization.
In the afternoon, visit Qoricancha or Temple of the Sun, the main Inca religious complex over which the Convent of Santo Domingo was built. Tour of the nearby archaeological sites: Sacsayhuamán with its precisely carved stone blocks, Qenko with its rock altars, Puka Pukara, and the fountains of Tambomachay.
Overnight in Cusco.
Day 4: Sacred Valley – Aguas Calientes
Full-day tour of the Sacred Valley. First stop in Chinchero, where you will visit a traditional textile center to learn about ancestral weaving techniques using alpaca wool and natural dyes. Visit to the archaeological site with agricultural terraces.
Continue to Moray, a complex of circular terraces that functioned as an Inca agricultural laboratory, and then to the Maras salt mines, with thousands of salt pools exploited since pre-Inca times.
