Chocolate Museum
An interactive space dedicated to the history and production of Peruvian chocolate, from the cacao bean to the chocolate bar. It offers paid workshops where you can learn to make your own chocolate, but admission to the museum is completely free. Ideal for families with children.

Coffee Museum
Peru is the third-largest coffee producer in Latin America after Brazil and Colombia. This museum works exclusively with coffee from the Cusco jungle and teaches about the cultivation, harvest, fermentation, drying, and grinding of coffee. It offers tastings and paid workshops, but admission to the museum is free.

Calle Espaderos 136, right next to the Plaza de Armas.

Monday to Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. Sundays from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 p.m.

Pisco Museum
An educational and fun space to learn about Peru’s national drink: pisco. The museum is run by experts in producing pisco as a spirit and the Pisco Sour as a cocktail. It offers tastings and mixology classes for a fee, but admission to the museum is free.

Santa Catalina Ancha 398, in front of the Marriott Hotel.

Monday to Thursday from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Friday and Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.

Regional History Museum (Casa Garcilaso)
This important museum, administered by the Ministry of Culture, offers free admission to Peruvians and foreign residents in the country on the first Sunday of every month. It exhibits collections of pre-Hispanic, colonial, and republican artifacts that tell the history of the Cusco region.

Corner of Garcilaso and Heladeros streets, Cusco’s historic center.
Opening hours
Monday to Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Saturdays from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Free admission
First Sunday of every month for Peruvian citizens and foreign residents (show DNI or residency card). Regular admission applies the rest of the month.

Chinchero Site Museum
Located in the picturesque town of Chinchero, 28 kilometers from Cusco, this museum displays archaeological pieces found in the area and explains the historical importance of the site, which was an Inca administrative center.

Main square of Chinchero, Chinchero district.
Opening hours
Daily from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Free admission
For Cusco residents every day (show DNI). For Peruvian citizens on the first Sunday of every month. Other visitors enter with the Tourist Ticket.

“Open Museums” Program
Since 2017 (Law 30599), the Ministry of Culture of Peru has implemented the “Open Museums” program, which allows free access to more than 50 museums and archaeological sites managed by the State throughout the country.
When does it apply?
On the first Sunday of every month throughout 2026.
Who can benefit?
Peruvian citizens and foreign residents in Peru (they must show a DNI or residency card).
